Potential Observatory Services and RDP Co-operation Feasibility Study

A recent study demonstrated the importance of commons graziers working together across the country, to exchange information and to make sure that policy makers fully understand common land and the management challenges.

Over 50 commons graziers and their association or federation representatives were consulted, as well as other key stakeholders across the UK and Ireland.

The need for more collaborative communications was clear, although unfortunately, the current set up of Rural Development Programme Funding means that this programme is not available to support a fully UK wide project.

Capacity builiding / learning visit to Northern Spain

This report documents a capacity building/learning visit to northern Spain by farmers from Cumbria and Dartmoor accompanied by people working on common land issues from within the UK. A major purpose of the visit was to promote and foster a sense of community amongst commoners, widely dispersed and yet facing similar challenges, so that we can take on our responsibility as a community for advocacy and care of a unique and precious approach to landscape and farming.
